Apple Pie Cupcakes



These cupcakes made from apple pie are a fun take on the traditional American dessert. They taste like a homemade apple pie and are easy to make like a cupcake. Wonderful for fall parties or any time you want a taste of fall.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups diced apples peeled and cored
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a cupcake tin with paper liners

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt

Set aside

In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition

Stir in the vanilla extract

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients

Mix until just combined

In a small bowl, toss the diced apples with the cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice until well coated

Gently fold the spiced apples into the cupcake batter

Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean

Remove the cupcakes from the oven and allow them to cool in the tin for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely

Once cooled, you can frost or top with your favorite apple pie filling or caramel sauce
