Coffee Cream Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup brewed coffee, cooled
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a 9x9-inch 23x23 cm baking pan
In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat
Stir in the granulated sugar and cocoa powder until well combined
Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly
In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, instant coffee granules, and vanilla extract
Slowly add the egg mixture to the chocolate mixture in the saucepan, stirring until smooth
Stir in the all-purpose flour and salt until just combined
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and smooth it out evenly
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs
While the brownies are baking, prepare the coffee cream
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream and brewed coffee over low heat until it begins to steam
Do not boil
Remove the cream mixture from heat and stir in the semi-sweet chocolate chips until they are completely melted and the mixture is smooth
Let the coffee cream mixture cool to room temperature
Once the brownies are done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool in the pan for about 10 minutes
Pour the coffee cream mixture evenly over the brownies
Chill the brownies in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the coffee cream has set
Cut the Coffee Cream Brownies into squares and serve
